Veragua Rainforest is located 16 kilometers south of the Liverpool entrance on Route 32. Visitors requiring their own transportation can take a taxi from downtown Puerto Limon, Puerto Viejo or Cahuita. Taxi drivers generally know the park location. Those driving to Veragua can find it on Google Maps
All cruise lines calling at Puerto Limon sell a variety of Veragua Rainforest tours. You can purchase directly from your cruise line’s webpage or Shorex desk onboard.
Eco-Adventure and Sky Gondola tours are ideal for ANY age or physical condition, including those in wheelchairs. Tours including the Original Canopy Tour are also suitable for all ages (above 5 years old) but are considered more active, although not strenuous.
Yes. In fact, our facilities were designed for wheelchairs and strollers, except for the optional Waterfall trail and platform, which has a total of 350 steps to and from the platform, that can be replaced with an easier river walk
For cruise visitors: If you are traveling on a cruise ship and purchased a tour from the cruise line, your ship will assist you in boarding our transportation. If not, you can take a taxi from the port.
For non-cruise visitors: Please opt for a tour listed on our website that includes Transportation as an option or hire a cab (most drivers know Veragua’s location).

When visiting Veragua, wear comfortable walking shoes and light clothes due to warm weather. Bring a poncho or raincoat, a hat and sun-block– or purchase these items at the park entrance. If you are taking The Original Canopy Tour®, bring an extra piece of clothing in case of rain. All of the rainforest trails and live exhibits at Veragua Rainforest Eco-Adventure have smooth, obstacle-free walking surfaces so hiking boots are not required
Children 5 years and older are allowed to go on the Canopy Tour if accompanied by an adult, or with a signed waiver.
Entrance to Veragua Rainforest is free for children under 4 years old. For children aged 4 to 12, we offer discounted children’s rate, generally 50% off adult rates. Students aged 13 to 17 receive 25% off adult rates.

Tours and excursions start on the hour from 8:00 am to 3:00 pm. You’ll be assigned a tour and guide upon arrival.(If booking online, default tour times are 10 a.m. Contact Us for alternate times.

The maximum weight for canopy participants is 120 kilograms (265 pounds).

Veragua Rainforest is located one-hour from Puerto Limon and just over two hours from San Jose. The park is 16 Kilometers south of the Liverpool entrance on Route 32.
Visitors can arrive via organized tour bus, by their own private or rental car, or via taxi. (Most taxi drivers in the region know our location.)
Part of the route is on a gravel road, but any type of vehicle can travel on it. Note: Pregnant women and people with back problems are not recommended to travel on the gravel road.
If you wish to take a cab, we recommend taking it from downtown Limón. More distant visitors can depart from Puerto Viejo and Cahuita also.
